One of my favorite books is Twyla Tharps, “The Creative Artist”. I wanted to share with you a brilliant technique she discusses to get out of a rut or spark a new idea. Whenever you feel stale, she recommends reading the contents of four or five year old files. This mundane task of poring over old correspondence and memos never fails to spark an idea or lift you out of a funk. The reason being it opens up a torrent of memories and associations.
